A First Class Concert Series at affordable prices

The Los Gatos Concert Association is celebrating its 77th year of bringing world-class entertainment to the West Valley community at affordable prices. The all-volunteer, nonprofit organization has hosted a variety of talent over the years, including symphony orchestras, chorales, brass ensembles, wind symphonies, opera companies, string quartets, pianists, dance performances, comedians, vocal ensembles and soloists, guitarists, organists, and musical theater.

Participation in the Four-Concert Series is by annual Season Subscription. Concerts are scheduled annually from September through May. Various categories of membership are offered, including Season Tickets to all four concerts in the Series. Partial Season ticket prices for the 3 remaining concerts are $50 for Adults, $45 for Seniors, $10 for Students and $110 for Families. This Season package offers a savings over single ticket purchases. The annual Subscription renewal period is from May – September each year.

Concerts are held at the renovated Los Gatos High School Theatre, Prentiss Brown Auditorium, on Sunday afternoons at 2:30 pm. Doors open at 2:00 pm with open seating.

Lincoln Trio

The celebrated GRAMMY nominated Chicago-based Lincoln Trio takes its name from their home, the heartland of the United States, the land of Lincoln. Bringing together performing experience spanning the globe, each member is an artist of international renown. The trio has been praised for its polished presentations of well-known chamber works and its ability to forge new paths with contemporary repertoire.

MusiKaravan

Often referred to as a fun, imaginative “musical picnic,” MusiKaravan was developed as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic’s closing of music venues. Violinists Etienne Gara and YuEun Kim took to the road on a 6-month trip in their 1971 VW bus to bring music to farmers, winemakers and random passersby to celebrate and thank the people who were “working hard to feed us physically and emotionally.” Alongside cellist Stella Cho, MusiKaravan presents classical favorites.

The Italian Saxophone Quartet, with its 40-year history, is one of the longest-lived groups currently active on the world stage. Shortly after their founding, the ISQ won a number of important chamber music competitions, including the unanimous First Prize at the prestigious Premio Ancona. Since then, they have been giving exciting and performances to adoring crowds from New York to Moscow, Athens to Tokyo.

Vida

Since forming in 2007, VIDA has performed to critical acclaim in major UK, USA and European venues. The broad range of timbers and dynamics achieved by this all-guitar ensemble results in a tapestry of sounds likened to an entire orchestra. Their repertoire features innovative arrangements of works by a wide variety of composers such as de Falla, Gershwin, Bach, and Brahms.
