Los Gatos Concert Association

Venue

The only sizable performance theatre serving our community today is the 465-seat Los Gatos High School Theatre, Prentiss Brown Auditorium. The theatre was built as an assembly hall for Los Gatos High School in 1924, and was modernized in 1967 to include seismic retrofits. Measure B School Bond (passed in 1998), combined with generous private donations resulted in a partial renovation.

The First Phase of the renovation was completed in Spring 2006, with a Grand Opening March 16, 2006. First Phase improvements included: updates to technical theatre systems (lights, rigging, sound), audience amenities (seating, handicap accessibility), and repairs-upgrades to the roof, heating, electrical systems, carpeting, paint and safety elements.

Since its Grand Opening in March 2006, the theatre has seen hundreds of productions and events ranging from parent information nights to community concerts, talent shows, dance recitals, college information nights, awards assemblies, class gatherings, school concerts, musicals, and the airing of newly released films.

It has been the home of the Los Gatos Concert Association since our inception in 1947. The LGCA maintains the Steinway Concert Grand and is a major donor to the LGHS Theatre Improvement Project.

Located in the heart of town, Los Gatos High School is an iconic Greek/Gothic structure in a park-like setting. The theatre is accessible from the side entrance at 20 High School Court. Arrive early as parking is limited.
